Rio has been dethroned. The G-rated adventure has been the king at the box office for the past two weekends and has finally been ousted by the new installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. Justin Lin returns as the director of the film and based on the feedback on forums and the opening weekend ticket sales (whopping $83.6 million), it appears to appeal to the masses as well.
Fast Five - the new box office king
If you haven't already seen it, plan to hit the theatres next weekend. And if you hate crowds, hit up a matinee or wait a couple of weeks before you venture to the theatre and enjoy the movie in peace.

Catching up with Sanjaya Malakar
For anyone who might've been watching American Idol 4 years ago, you would've remembered Sanjaya from Season 6. He auditioned with his sister Shyamali, who did not make it to the finals like he did. As much as he was panned by some people, he certainly had the talent.
If he didn't have that talent, he wouldn't have made it past the initial audition, much less make it to the final ten. There shouldn't even be a question about that. His voice was just not strong enough for some of the songs he sang. That, coupled with poor choice of songs for his vocal range at the time and inexperience on a big stage, overshadowed his true talent. But fortunately (or maybe unfortunately, depending on how you want to look at it), people remembered him because he had such wild hairstyles for each performance.
Sanjaya Malakar - 4 years later
But as you can see, the past four years have been good for Sanjaya. He's made appearances on TV (Hell's Kitchen, The Soup (G4) as well as an off-Broadway show. Despite a throng of haters who swore he had no talent, he seems to have come out of the Idol experience with a positive outlook.
As the article says, he wants to stay Indie. Let's see how he does in the next few years. Best of luck to him!

The Rules of the Royals
As most of us know, there are Royal traditions and rules that must be followed. Most recently, the point of interest is what the princess to be, Miss Kate Middleton will have to give up.
What Kate (Catherine) Must Give Up
In the grand scheme of things, it's not so bad. Let's go through these one by one:
1. Be referred to as 'Kate'
I do like Kate more than Catherine (C instead of a K... Curious)
2. Vote
Eh. Not that big of a deal.
3. Run for political office
Um. Really. She's already going to be a princess... Does she really need more power?
4. Escape the scrutiny
Yeeaaaah... As a public figure, there will always be some numb nut out there who will have something mean or negative to say. And props to Will for trying to shield her from that, but there's always those rat bastards who will look for any opportunity to make a celeb look bad.
5. Play Monopoly
Say whaaaaat?! Simplest game ever, but I guess any kind of cheating can cause or start a fight. So does this mean that they can't play chess or checkers either?
6. Say or do anything controversial
Okay. Again. Not so hard. She appears to be a smart lass.
7. Eat shellfish
Really? WTF? It would greatly upset me if I had to give up shellfish!
8. Work
Hmmmm. Yeah, that's a thinker. Princess and work should not appear in the same sentence. But at the same time, she will have to make public appearances, which in their vocabulary, is considered to be work.
9. Sign anything unofficial
Again. Not that hard. Just don't sign anything. Simple, right?
10 Finish her dinner
Wow. So Kate is already super thin. Does she need to be any thinner? Then again... the Queen mother is older now, so it might be of benefit to her if she actually eats slowly. Just don't upset her or make her lose her appetite, because then EVERYONE loses!

The Most Beautiful People of 2011
Ah yes, here is the annual tradition of People Magazine's choice of the hottest and most beautiful people in Hollywood.
From the picture, you can probably deduce who is number 1. Not her best picture IMHO. One would think that if someone is being featured as the most beautiful person, the magazine would use more flattering photos like one of the two below:
But who else made the list?
